The Tail of Two Amos Sharp's From Ohio

As I was looking for my Great Great Grandfather Amos Sharp I ran into a problem it seems that there are two men named Amos Sharp born in Ashtabula Ohio in 1932. Both of these men moved to Michigan one to Newaygo Michigan and the other to Mecosta County Michigan. Both men were married twice. The similarities between the two men have caused a problem with keeping them separate from each other.  Below is a breakdown of the two men.

I have attempted to separate them and create a web page for each. Click menu at top of page to see the link to the two pages ------->

My Great Great Grandfather is the Amos who lived in Mecosta County Michigan.

Here is a short breakdown of the two men.

Amos Sharp is my great great grandfather. I am putting together this page to help clear up the confusion between Amos Sharp and Amos V. Sharp. The two men named Amos Sharp are often mixed up and information for one is attributed to the other.

Let me set the stage for this mix up of Amos Sharp (no middle name) and Amos V. Sharp

They were both born in Ashtabula, Ohio in 1832.

They both migrated to Michigan where they were farmers.

They were both married twice with their first wife’s dying young.

They were 2nd cousins and shared the same great-grandfather Abraham Scherp born May 21, 1738. Their grandfathers Andrus and Abraham were bothers.

Amos Sharp married Martha Pelton first and they had three children.
